Sunday, Bloody Sunday...

My son almost died today. We had to rush him to the emergency room. There was blood all over my hands, my baby's face and shirt, my husband's hands. I guess the ER folks have become so numb to that sort of thing--they didn't really react in a life/death mentality, instead telling us to w...a...i...t while they chatted each other up about ordering Subway sandwiches for lunch. I just wanted to shake them into recognition. I'm exhausted, and my son is thankfully alive and sleeping in the next room. I'll tell the whole story tomorrow after some sleep. I need not say that my life perspective has been altered dramatically in the last day. More tomorrow...

ER staff fascinates me. They are so over exposed to trauma that they become indifferent to the same.

I sad to hear you had such a bad experience. I am glad to hearyour son is ok.
