Day trip...

I've been taking a lot of daytrips lately--whether I physically leave home or not. My need to escape the bleak reality of "home life" the past few weeks has been almost insurmountable, but the road has been merciful. Admittedly, my "problem" doesn't lie with my family or my home. The problem lies within ME, and my dangerously abominable restlessness. I feel as if I'm not living up to my potential. I haven't accomplished as much as I thought I would have at this age. I've been capturing my outings on a donated digital camera, and I have to admit, it brings me joy. To take pictures while formulating the story they will tell. Something, anything, creative. And I'll take you with me on my travels.

This is Berry College in Rome, GA. Its campus is also a nature preserve, and deer wander through the fields and dormitories surrounding it. I was elated to be there among its students who were running or reading in the sun. It made me want to return to school, if only just to be put back in touch with those who run or read.
