Ode to Keats

This was one of my thrift store purchases--a wooden, hand-painted key cabinet. Because I did a lot of my maturing in Germany, I'm a sucker for anything even vaguely reminiscent of the country, particularly Bavarian artifacts. Moreover, it reminded me of the two lovers in the poem "Ode on a Grecian Urn." Suspended forever in time, loving each other, but never allowed to touch. Prost, my dear Keats. Prost!

Parenthetically: Posted by Picasa "Bold Lover, never, never canst thou kiss, Though winning near the goal yet, do not grieve; She cannot fade, though thou hast not thy bliss, For ever wilt thou love, and she be fair!"
