Boy, am I glad to be home. By the time we pulled into the driveway at 1 a.m. this morning, the road had practically done me in. Now I'm safe, comfy, and watching "House." Pffwew.

So much for posting from the road. The internet at the trusty Holiday Inn in Jennings, Louisiana, cut off every five minutes, making it nearly impossible to complete a thought. And on top of that, on top of that, there was enough reception chardonnay imbibed by me after the wedding to kill a pony. So blogging kind of got pushed aside in favor of eating enough "alligator bites" in the Holiday Inn restaurant to bring that pony back to life. Then I stood out in the hallway and talked all night with people I met at the reception about Andrew Lytle, Andrew Lytle's cabin in Sewanee, and Andrew Lytle's ghost. Good times.

I came home and embraced my housekeeping rituals, my dogs, my son's three hours a day in pre-school, and my oh-my-gosh-all-that-Cajun-food-made-me-fatter/better-eat-salads-for-a-month-diet.

It took me going a long way away to decide I like it just fine where I am. Now who I am needs a little work.

Welcome home, honey - we missed hearing your voice!
Your photos are beautiful but cannot hold a candle to your words.
