The Tasks at Hand

I awoke this morning with a purpose, which begins with getting my house together:
The dishes...
The weekly stripping of the linens...
The laundry...
The lighting of a candle as a sweet anodyne to lessen the drudgery...until I can be where I want to be, which is here...in the work-in-progress room I've lovingly dubbed the "inner sanctum"...

Your nook looks so inviting. It is such a challenge to find a balance between managing the day-to-day and curling up in our sacred spaces, wherever they may be. Sometimes I think I could be easily persuaded to sneak into my studio, close the door behind me, and just stay there- letting the whole outside world melt away. Has creating this room been an ongoing project of yours? I'm also interested in the last photo- I can't make out the entire text but the phrases I can read seem inspiring:)

Oooh your sanctum looks so beautiful - like a tiny Parisian parlour. I know the muses will be thrilled with their new space, and fill you with every inspiration and just the right words.
And the candle looks gorgeous ....

I, too, love the framed words. What a great idea. I'll try it too! I love "stealing" ideas. And I love the inner sanctum. I want to rub my bare feet in that fluffy rug. The hanging lamps are great. You have a wonderful spot for letting the words and images flow. - Jeanne

So jealous. I would love a santuary of my own. Or sanctuary period. From life. And work. And responsiblity. Crap, I need a drink.

Wow, Jennifer! I love that room. What a great space. I don't know why I'm so surprised but I am.
