I just finished reading Melissa Bank's The Girl's Guide to Hunting and Fishing for the second time. The first time I read the book was back in 2000 when it had just come out, and although it obviously hasn't changed, I apparently have. I can honestly say now that I didn't "get it" back then, but I thought I had. I'm sure when I read it again ten years from now, I will say that I didn't get it this time either. It's like Jane Eyre--the book I read in high school was not read by the same woman I became in college. (I still say hooray for the "red-roomed" girl! And hooray, too, for the crazy woman in the attic! I've known them both.)
