I took my son to the University of Georgia campus, and I explained to him that this was "mommy's school." He seemed amazed by the sheer enormity of it. So did I. I wanted him to see the college library, pictured here, to experience the sixth floor where I came as much for the quiet as for the spectacular view. I would pull my chair up to the window, look up from my notes from time to time, and feel the power of my surroundings. "Would you like to go Mommy's school when you get older?" I asked him. "Yes, Mommy" came his answer.
