Silver Lining

I spent the day resting and reading, sipping jasmine tea and trying to recover from the sniffles. It's always the worst to get a cold in summer. Hot weather with a runny nose is abysmal. Anyhow, it gave me a reason to seek out little nooks throughout the house to avoid the Blues Clues and Barney sounds emanating through the living room. I've been reading Midnight In the Garden of Good and Evil, and I'm really engrossed. Savannah has always seemed like such a mystery to me--not for just what the city is, but for who I become when I walk its streets. The Spanish moss and the old homes seem to resonate something in me, making me feel older and wiser about life than I could be anywhere else.
