I love that my kitchen faces east, toward the rising-sun-ribbons and also toward the morning birds chiming their approval at the breakfast I've laid out for them. I have a dream of acquiring a very large and very heavy wrought iron cage for my backyard, door always open, with a bird feeder inside. I'd plant a red and purple flower garden all around it, and I could have pet wild birds, free to come and go as they (and I) pleased. Then, of course, there would have to be the perfunctory winding stone path leading from my back door. Ahhh, someday.
In other news, the annual Valentine's cards are on their way out today...Gretchen, you get the rooster, of course.

I love the way your photos and your words just paint the prettiest pictures of glowy domestic goodness.
"Cockadoodle-doo!!" That's rooster for "Hey, pretty chicken, be my Valentine."
