I was gone for but a moment to grab a cool bottle of water from the basement fridge. I had carried a blanket, a pillow, and the spring issue of Somerset Life into the afternoon sunshine to lie about in the grass. When I returned, happy and larky, I found this old girl, who obviously had lying-about ideas of her own.
